Fit Family children return to swimming training at California's Mills College, Oakland: Next training will be on Saturday, November 7, 2015
The Fit Family children today returned to swimming training at California's Mills College. Swimming is one of the activities organized by Endurance - A Sports and Psychology Center and sponsored by Healthy Hearts program at Children’s Hospital Oakland to help families keep fit and healthier. The other activities are biking, running and lessons on healthy nutrition.
Endurance Center Director Cory Nyamora and two members of staff attended today’s training session, which was conducted by coaches provided by Mills College. Dr. Nyamora is a clinical psychologist as well as a USA certified coach in both triathlon as well as track and field.
The next swimming training: Saturday November 7th, 2015 from 10.30 a.m.- 12.30 p.m. at Mills College Pool – 5000 MacArthur Blvd. Oakland, CA. 94613
Who: The training is for kids who are trying to get healthier and more active. At least one parent is required to attend and parents are welcome to swim too.
Cost: $15 per child per session – (if you can pay more please do as this will help other families with limited resources to attend). If parents want to swim, they can pay an extra fee directly at the pool ($7) otherwise, you can just come and watch your child and participate in the program. If anyone needs a reduced fee please let us know.

Fit Family Swimming training ends after eight weeks
The Fit Family Swim training ended yesterday after eight weeks.
Parents and children praised the training, which was held at California’s Mills College, in Oakland.
The training was tailored for families who wanted to get healthier and more active. At least one parent was required to attend, and parents were welcome to swim too. In addition to swimming training, the families received instructions on the importance of nutrition and regular exercise.
Endurance – A Sports and Psychology Center (ESPC) organized the training, which was sponsored by the Healthy Hearts Program at Children's Hospital Oakland. Endurance Center staff, led by Endurance Director, Dr. Cory Nyamora, and Mills College swimming coaches supervised the training.
Dr. Nyamora is a certified US coach in Track & Field as well as Triathlon. He is also a psychologist. His organization is involved in various programs intended to keep families fit and healthy. The programs include biking, running, swimming and triathlon.
California children to complete eight-week swimming training on Saturday
Fit Family children will complete their swimming training on Saturday, December 14, 2013. The training, which has been going on every Saturday for the past seven weeks at Mills College, California, was organized by the Endurance -- a Sports and Psychology Center and sponsored by Healthy Hearts Program at Children’s Hospital Oakland. In addition to swimming, the children and their families also receive instructions on how to keep healthy and fit through proper nutrition and exercises.
